This camera is of special significance to me as its exactly the same as the very first camera I owned back in the late 1970s. My actual camera has long since been disposed of - but this model is relatively common in the UK and it didn’t take long to find a decent example.
Essentially its a simple box camera which uses Polaroid type 87 film to produce approximately square black and white prints. Originally there were 8 pictures to a film pack - but at some point Polaroid upgraded this to 10.
The film type is a peel apart instant one as I was an impatient child and couldn’t wait for film to be sent away for developing. Having said that the camera was probably fairly cheap to buy - but the film was very expensive and I would spend a lot of time deciding what and how to photograph.
Below is an example picture I took fairly recently. I still have an album of photos I took as a child - though only a few shots really stand out now.
