Once the shutter front plate has been removed - you should see the following:

Fig 6. Shutter with front plate removed

Okay now we're getting somewhere. The shutter mechanism in (almost) all its glory has been revealed ;-) From here you may well be able to sort the problem out - especially if its just slow speeds. The compartment on the right hand side with the blue dot is the escapement and controls the slow speeds. Cleaning with lighter fluid and a small paintbrush here may well help.

This is as far as the shutter can be dismantled and yet still be abled to be fired. If you intend to do a complete clean - then at this stage
removing the shutter from the camera is a good idea.

However, if you wish to dismantle further from the front - the shutter speed ring comes off quite easily - though you will have to remove the aperture dial pointer (5 o'clock position). This is held by a small screw which is quite fiddly to get at. Also pay attention to the following 3 closeups. These all contain spring loaded components which may move and hinder the refitting of the shutter speed ring. In each picture the component in question is located at the centre.

At this point it would be very sensible to get familiar with the shutter operation in general as well as these sections before attempting to go any further.
